So, how does it all work?
1) Design Briefing Session
First, let’s meet in person if your local (Victoria, B.C.) or over Skype (seesawdesign) for international clients. I’m excited to meet you and learn more about your project!
You tell me all about your project and your business and why it’s spectacular. Then I’ll ask plenty of questions in the form of my design brief to get a good picture of your market, goals, timeline and budget.
2) Project Overview & Quote
With my notes in hand, I’ll put together a brief project overview and quote within 2-3 business days outlining deliverables and suggesting a few available start dates.
If everything is clicking and we both think See/Saw is a good fit for your project, we’ll sign off on the billing plan, milestone dates, terms and agreements and schedule your project.
3) Pre-Project Preparation
We’ll then decide which items need to be prepared before the project begins.
This may mean booking a photographer for professional website photo’s, writing your website copy or hiring a copywriter to tackle it for you. Whatever needs to be completed, we’ll put our heads together, make a list and decide on what will be the most convenient and practical way for us to prepare for your project.
4) Let’s get this project started.
On our scheduled start date, I’ll wait to receive all the necessary materials from you such as supplied photography, copy, information, etc. Once I’ve got em, it’s off to the studio I go.
5) Design Concepts
The design process begins from the foundation of strategy. We need to know we are making choices in alignment with where you are headed as a business and what message your brand needs to communicate.
From there, I dive in, carefully crafting logo options, matching typefaces and incorporating the beauty of colour. Artful details and supplementary elements are designed to bring it all together. Every decision is made with intention.
I try out a multitude of ideas, always putting my aesthetic decisions to the test and making each detail count. By the end of this creative process I am ready for your review and feedback.
My goal is to create a distinctive, cohesive brand that is flexible and adapts well across all mediums and platforms.
6) Feedback & Refinement
Once completed, we’ll meet to go over the concepts. At this point, you’ll let me know which of the concepts best communicates the mission, values, and personality of your brand.
You’ll give me honest and constructive feedback and I will use that to develop the chosen concept, refining details, tweaking typefaces and perfecting layout, form, and function.
Once that’s approved, I will prepare your brand files or website for launch. Packaging and formatting everything you need to use the materials that have been designed, be it a new brand identity, a website or your latest social media marketing campaign.
Within two weeks of completion, we’ll schedule the last meeting to discuss any final details or additions.
8) Spread the word
At this point, I sincerely hope you’ve enjoyed working with me and are as excited about your new brand as I am!
